SRA Explorer - get download links and scripts for the SRA
The NCBI Sequence Read Archive contains raw sequencing data from most published NGS studies. It’s an invaluable resource, however the web interface they provide can be a little frustrating at times. Specifically, given a publication and SRA identification number, it can often take a long time to find the actual FTP links needed to download the data.
The SRA explorer is a simple web-based tool that uses the SRA API to find projects of interest. You select the samples that you want and add them to your “shopping basket”. When you’re ready, you can “check out” to get the data links in three formats: a simple list of URLs, a download bash script or an input file to be used with Cluster Flow.
